Enable disable auto login

If you are a home user of Windows, then you may want to auto login to Windows without providing password each time you login.  It’s also useful in the situations where you are doing some automated work on Windows and you want to be logged in automatically after system boot.

Whatever may be the purpose, here’s how you can enable auto login in to a Windows computer.

Download Autologin.exe from the link. (This is a Microsoft Tool, so don’t worry about Virus/Malware as long as you download it from Microsoft portal.)

Run the downloaded tool from command prompt with the below syntax.

Autologon  userName domainName password

Example:

To set autologin with local administrator account the command is below. For this example, computer name is mypc , password is fsfaft3r3*)

Autologon  administrator  mypc  fsfaft3r3*

To set autologin for a domain user account the command would be similar. Let’s say username is John, domain is  wincmd, password is fsfaft3r3*

Autologon john wincmdline fsfaft3r3*
