Windows 7 Run commands

In this article, we show the run commands available in Windows 7.  Some of the commands available in XP no longer work in Win7. Also, some new commands have been added.

Windows 7 Run commands:

appwiz.cpl : Programs and Features(View/uninstall installed updates/software)

bthprops.cpl : Blue tooth devices

calc – calculator

certmgr.msc : Security certificates manager

cleanmgr – Disk clean manager

compmgmt.msc : Computer management console

ComputerDefaults : Set Program access and defaults

control: Control panel

desk.cpl:  Display settings configuration window.

devmgmt.msc : Device management console

diskmgmt.msc : disk management console

eventvwr.msc : Event viewer

firewall.cpl : Windows firewall configuration window.

fsmgmt.msc : Shared Folders management console

gpedit.msc : Group policy editor

iexplore : Internet explorer

inetcpl.cpl: Internet Properties(internet options)

lusrmgr.msc : Local users and Groups management console

main.cpl : Mouse properties window.

mobsync: Sync center

mstsc: Remote desktop client

msconfig : System Configuration

msinfo32 : System information

mspaint : MS paint appliation

ncpa.cpl – Network connections

notepad: Notepad text editor

optionalfeatures : Windows Features

perfmon (or) perfmon.msc : Performance monitor

printmanagement.msc : Printer management console

rsop.msc : Shows resultant set of group policies applied on user account/computer account

secpol.msc : Local security policy management console

services.msc : Services Management console

sysdm.cpl : System properties

taskmgr : Task Manager

taskschd.msc : Task scheduler

timedate.cpl: Set system time and date.

userinit: User libraries(Documents, Pictures etc)

wf.msc : Windows firewall management console

winver: Windows version information

WmiMgmt.msc: WMI management console

write: Wordpad application

wscui.cpl: Windows security center

wow! thanks i really love to use CMD and RUN on windows. and also hibernate was not available on my pc since i installed win 8, but now i got simple cmd command (shutdown /h) here. keep it up!
